About Late Adds and Wait Lists:
Any students interested in adding a Spanish language class should attend the first day to
be added to the wait list. The section instructor will then give further instructions.
Please do not e-mail particular instructors because they do NOT make wait lists before
the quarter begins. You must attend the first day of class to be placed on the wait list
and will be informed of priority for students wishing to add.
For adding classes, you are strongly encouraged to continue checking Gold until the first
day of classes. Many students still drop and add until the first day of classes. Enrolled students who do not attend the first three days of instructions will be dropped from the class.
In front of the main office (Phelps 4206) there is a table. During the first week of
classes the department will place a list there with each day's enrollment. If a class
has fewer than 30 students attending, then there will probably be space for you to add.
If not, you are encouraged to attend a class that has lower attendance.
The number of courses we are able to offer this quarter has been greatly reduced because
of budget cuts. We anticipate this situation to continue during the academic year 09-10.
Therefore, we strongly recommend that you consider taking Spanish classes during the
summer. All lower division courses will be offered during the summer. For more information please go to http://www.summer.ucsb.edu/deptcourses/span.html
