About

The Santa Barbara Portuguese Studies is an international scholarly journal devoted to the study of Portuguese, Brazilian, and Lusophone African cultures as well as Asia. The journal welcomes submissions of articles pertinent to the literatures and cultures of the Portuguese-speaking world, including linguistics, translation and interdisciplinary studies. It is also part of the journal’s mission to issue special numbers organized by guest editors. We accept articles in the following languages: Portuguese, English, French, Italian and Spanish. We also publish reviews, and original literary translations both from and into Portuguese. The journal can also publish texts from conferences and oral communications previously presented in an academic environment.

We will also be digitalizing all past issues of the Santa Barbara Portuguese Studies.
