A Presença de Espinosa nas Culturas de Língua Portuguesa

In the beginning of 2017, the Santa Barbara Portuguese Studies digital asked Maria Luísa Ribeiro Ferreira to edit a number dedicated to Spinoza. The objective was to ask Portuguese language researchers to write about the presence of this philosopher in the Brazilian and Portuguese cultures, given the Portuguese origins of Spinoza's family and background. Having passed a great part of her academic life working with this thinker, it would be easy for her to contact colleagues with whom she shared her love for the author of the Ethics. And, little by little this number was completed, our collaborations freely choosing their own subjects. The volume offers a great variety of perspectives and engagements from our six guest contributors from Portugal and seven from Brazil.
