To apply for our graduate program, you must submit an online graduate application. Be sure to read the instructions both on this page and within the eApp portal carefully to ensure each section is completed accurately. We strongly recommend keeping personal copies of all application materials for your records. This page provides detailed information on eligibility, applicant types, and a step-by-step guide to completing the online application.
Note that we offer two graduate program tracks: the M.A./Ph.D. program, designed for students who have not yet earned a master’s degree, and the Ph.D. program, for those entering with an M.A. We do not offer an M.A.-only program—the master’s degree is granted only as part of the M.A./Ph.D. track. All applicants must apply with the Ph.D. as their intended degree objective.
We encourage curious, motivated students to apply—if you’re passionate about language, literature, and culture, you just might find your academic home with us!
